On May 1, 2012 on broadway and olympic at 1pm, the May Day Queer Contingent will once again march to raise awareness of the issues that affect the LGBTQ population within the immigration system. We hope to raise the visibility of our community and also demonstrate our solidarity with the immigration movement at large.

We call for a comprehensive immigration policy that provides a real path to legalization for all immigrants.

We call for comprehensive and universal health care that guarantees access for all LGBTQ and immigrant individuals regardless of status.

We call for an end to widespread deportations and incarcerations that criminalize and affect working immigrants and their families.

We call for the fair treatment of Queer, Transgender, Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual immigrants in immigration courts and by immigration law.

We call for an end to the mistreatment, abuse and violence against Transgender, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Queer immigrants in ICE detention facilities.

We call for respect for students' rights to an education under the Dream Act, Fair Education Act and Ethnic Studies in California, Arizona, Georgia and Alabama. Undocumented LGBTQ students face discrimination and lack of access to an equal and fair education. The Dream Act must provide students with a path to legalization.

We call for an end to entrapment policies such as Secure Communities, Special Order 1, which criminalize LGBTQ communities, who disproportionately face discrimination and violence at the hands of law enforcement and ICE.

We call for respect of labor laws, equal rights and benefits, just wages for LGBTQ individuals in the workplace.
